Business Opportunity
Mulpha operates over 20 individual entities and brands, consisting of 60 AP ledgers across all of them, each which has its own accounts payable systems and processes. The business had recently undertaken an internal audit of the accounts payable (AP) business units and identified significant duplicated payments.
Atturra have supported Mulpha with TechnologyOne ERP solutions since 2016, beginning with the implementation of their payroll systems. They were keen to continue working with Atturra to standardise the disparate AP systems and processes into one that could be scaled across all entities. This would also allow them to reduce reliance on manual intervention and better utilise finance staff in their shared services team.
Solution
In collaboration with its technology partner, Efficiency Leaders, Atturra implemented and integrated the RapidAP automation solution. RapidAP is a cloud-based solution from Efficiency Leaders, that reduces AP processing costs and time by around 80%, improves data accuracy, and integrates with the TechnologyOne environment.
Atturra’s business application specialists worked closely with the teams at Mulpha and Efficiency Leaders to design, configure, automate, integrate, and deploy the solution.
The first phase went live in February 2024 (Corporate group) and the second phase successfully launched followed in October 2024 (operating divisions). This was in line with the original agreed timeframe.
Throughout the project and after go-live, Atturra provided additional support and guidance that empowered Mulpha to navigate internal project management hurdles and solve systems issues quickly.
Outcomes achieved
With Atturra’s help, Mulpha’s transition to RapidAP resulted in immediate benefits. Leveraging the right technology solution has enabled the business to significantly reduce the risk of error or duplication. With visibility across all 60+ AP ledgers, the RapidAP system can flag hundreds more potential duplicate transactions, avoiding unnecessary costs.
The business is better positioned for growth with an efficient, standardised, scalable AP process. Mundane work has been reduced, and value-add activities have increased, enabling the group to improve job satisfaction amongst finance staff. The streamlined process also enables Mulpha to make the most of its shared services division by leveraging resources to provide operational support.
