The Australian Army’s Combat Training Centre (CTC) delivers some of Army’s most important collective training activities, helping prepare units and headquarters for complex missions in diverse and demanding operational environments. While training activities are usually measured by the outcomes achieved in the field, those outcomes often rely on detailed planning, coordination and support behind the scenes.
Enabling Realistic Training Outcomes
Collective training activities require far more than just the execution of an exercise scenario. Training objectives must be translated into practical activities. Exercise environments need to be prepared and supported. Planning functions, coordination activities and specialist services all contribute to creating the conditions required for effective training. As the battlespace we expect Army to operate in becomes both increasingly complex and lethal, we must reflect this in the exercise environments we use to train our men and women.
Atturra’s role within the CTC environment spans a range of supporting functions. Over the past year, Atturra has supported the CTC to deliver a sustained program of collective training activities, including Exercise Pozieres Run 2026. Through exercise planning support, exercise delivery support, training environment support and specialist services, our team has helped enable realistic, challenging and operationally relevant training outcomes for Army.
Importantly, this type of work often occurs behind the scenes. Success is measured not by the visibility of the support effort, but by the quality and effectiveness of the training activity it helps enable.
Experience That Understands the Mission
A significant proportion of Atturra’s Defence professionals bring previous military experience to their roles. Their backgrounds include leadership, command and management, operational and logistic planning, integrated fires, medical support, air space management and exercise planning and delivery. This allows them to interpret and support a commander’s intent, force capabilities and limitations, and military planning processes. As a result, they can help deployed forces deliver operational effects in realistic and demanding circumstances.
As you can see, the value Atturra’s Defence expertise bring is not just in their military experience. It is their ability to apply that experience in support of contemporary Army operational objectives and training requirements.
Supporting Army’s Training Edge
Exercise Pozieres Run 2026 represents one example of the broader support Atturra provides to the Combat Training Centre. Across multiple collective training activities, our teams have contributed to the planning, delivery and support functions that underpin effective training.
These activities reflect the scale, complexity and tempo of modern Army training. They also demonstrate the importance of experienced support professionals who can adapt to different requirements and contribute effectively across a variety of training environments.
As Defence continues to prepare for an increasingly complex strategic environment, realistic collective training remains essential. Atturra is proud to support the CTC and the Defence personnel responsible for delivering that capability, and to help create the conditions for successful training outcomes across Army.
