Atturra Improves Data Visibility for City of Tea Tree Gully Council by Streamlining Rates Processing

Atturra has announced it’s successful deployment of TechnologyOne Property & Rating platform at City of Tea Tree Gully Council (TTGC) in South Australia.

Well-known for innovation and service excellence, City of Tea Tree Gully Council is located about 18 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD in the Mount Lofty Ranges foothills and provides services for more than 100,000 residents across approximately 40,000 properties.

Justin Robbins, General Manager Strategy and Finance at TTGC, said the Council chose Atturra for the deployment project because of its deep knowledge of TechnologyOne software and experience in the local government sector.

“The TechnologyOne Property & Rating platform is very powerful however its standard configuration did not match our established operating methods,” said Robbins.  “We could see that Atturra would take the time to fully understand our requirements and then make the necessary adjustments.”

A long-standing relationship

The City of TTGC’s usage of TechnologyOne software began back in 2020 when the organisation implemented TechnologyOne Financials. The success of that project gave the organisation’s senior management the confidence to undertake this additional deployment.

“We carried out a tender process and thoroughly evaluated all submissions, but it quickly became clear that TechnologyOne deployed by Atturra would best meet our requirements,” Robbins said. “The deployment began in August 2023 with a series of design workshops and the fully deployed platform went live on 1 July 2024.

“We managed to synchronise our go-live with the beginning of the new financial year. Systems were turned off on the Friday, work completed over the weekend, and the new platform was up and running by the Monday morning. It all worked seamlessly.”

Significant business benefits

With the new platform fully operational, TTGC is enjoying some significant business benefits. A range of previously manual processes have been automated, resulting in significant time savings and improvements in efficiency.

“We had 30 years of data, including ratepayer details, property addresses and valuations stored in our legacy Authority rating system, and Atturra worked closely with us to migrate this to the new TechnologyOne platform,” said Robbins. “The process involved converting from a number of different formats into more suitable data types.”

The Council is also enjoying significantly improved reporting capabilities and a series of enhanced data dashboards providing better insights in the valuation and ratings processes.

“The new TechnologyOne platform has also been integrated with our existing Salesforce application to provide a more fully featured customer front end,” he added. “Other integrations have been completed with our GIS platform, our document management system, and our payroll system.”

Ongoing support

The City of TTGC continues to work closely with Atturra and is examining other ways in which the new platform may be put to use within the organisation.

“Atturra’s specialist knowledge continues to be invaluable for us,” Robbins said. “We look forward to continuing to work with them as an important technology partner.”
