Atturra Delivers First Stage of Brisbane Grammar School Microsoft Dynamics Student Information System
Atturra has announced the successful development and delivery of the first module (People and Profile) of the Student Information System (SIS) for Brisbane Grammar School. This cutting-edge module, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365, is designed to streamline administrative processes and unlock new learning and service delivery capabilities.
The successful delivery of this first module validates the strategy of adopting and using the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform as intended, without the need for custom coding. This was achieved with a clear set of requirements provided by Brisbane Grammar School in conjunction with technical support and capability from Atturra.
The People and Profile module serves as the foundation of the SIS solution, providing essential features such as a robust database for managing people and their relationships, comprehensive support for registrations, legal arrangements, medical needs, health records, counselling, well-being and support plans, efficient attendance management, enrolment capabilities, and school staffing functions.
The Microsoft Dynamics delivery program will usher in a new era for Brisbane Grammar School. The new SIS, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications, will completely replace the school’s legacy, on-premise system that houses 42 bespoke applications.
The platform offers a wide range of out-of-the-box capabilities, strong integration capabilities via APIs and message queues, and native integration with low and no-code platforms. This comprehensive suite of features will support an array of workflow processes and approvals for everyday school processes, including personalised learning, school reports, excursions, communications, resource and incident management, and financial billing and reporting.
This transition is not just about technology, but about empowering all community members with a flexible, and common system for all their interactions with the school, significantly reducing the administrative burden of operating multiple systems. Moreover, it will unlock data and capability for Brisbane Grammar School to evolve its processes and meet emerging learning and service delivery capabilities with high adaptability.
“We are delighted that Atturra is on track with its delivery of our SIS, as it is a key anchor for our growth and digital innovation,” says Alexis Hill, Chief Information Officer at Brisbane Grammar School. “Atturra is a valuable partner and it’s great to see them meeting our set delivery timeframes for services and solutions that will underpin our SIS and digital ways of working for many years to come.”
The solution being developed for Brisbane Grammar School by Atturra can also be used by other educational institutions. Interested schools can adopt the solution in a modular manner, facilitating earlier deployment and enabling feedback collection while reducing the effort required to switch from other systems. For example, a school that may only require an attendance and rostering module can then rapidly purchase a license at its earliest convenience and unlock further features when required.
Anthony Micallef, Headmaster at Brisbane Grammar School, expressed his excitement about the progress of this innovative project. “We are witnessing our vision come to life and are excited to implement contemporary practices in attracting, developing, and retaining the best individuals, strengthening ties with stakeholders, and enhancing the educational and user experience for students and staff. The project is inspiring the community to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the digital age, and we thank Atturra for their support and collaboration during this journey,” said Micallef.
Brett Auton, Industry Lead—K-12 Education at Atturra, said, “Our relationship with Brisbane Grammar School is a strategic partnership. We look forward to continuing to deliver value by developing additional modules for the SIS with the performance and scalability required for the school’s ongoing growth, and supporting other educational institutions as they undertake their ongoing digitisation.”
